Finding an internship can seem like a daunting task. There are many places to look, but I have found the most success using these options.

School Job Board
Although I can only directly speak for the University of Maryland, many universities have a curated job board available for students and alumni. At UMD, we have access to Careers4Terps, an online site that has job and internship postings, resume and cover letter help, meetings with career counselors and on campus interviews.
University curated job boards provide a streamlined list of internships from employers that are looking to hire from your campus. The applicant pool is smaller than other sites, so you have a better chance of getting hired.
LinkedIn is the one of the more well known job searching sites. Many employers post internship opportunities to the site. There are options to easy apply within LinkedIn, but some take you to the company's site to complete the application.
The main benefit of applying for internships on LinkedIn is that there are so many different internships posted. You can see opportunities all over the world, and can refine by your field and desired area. However, due to the ease of the site you will be competing with a large applicant pool.

Online Groups
There are many different PR groups online that you can join as a PR student. Members of the groups will often post internship opportunities, and you can make a post saying that you are available to be an intern. I was able to find my current internship this way!
On Facebook there are many different groups, such as Women in Public Relations. There are also groups on LinkedIn. There are different groups for your school, and for PR pros across the country.
Overall, all are good options to find an internship. There are many more ways to find one, but I have found success with these specific ways. How have you found an internship? Let me know in the comments!
